Osmanl\u0131lar zaman\u0131nda safran &uuml;retimini 8-10 tona &ccedil;\u0131kt\u0131\u011f\u0131 kayd edilmektedir. Safranbolu,\u0130stanbul, Tokat, \u0130zmir, Adana ve \u015eanl\u0131urfa civarlar\u0131nda yeti\u015ftirilen safran bu g&uuml;n sadece Safranbolu Davut obas\u0131 k&ouml;y&uuml;nde &ccedil;ok dar bir alanda(3-4 dak) yeti\u015ftiricili\u011fi yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 8pt\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Safran (Crocus Sativus) so\u011fanl\u0131 bir bitkidir. So\u011fan &ccedil;aplar\u0131 2-4 cm kadard\u0131r. So\u011fanlar k&uuml;remsi ve hafif bas\u0131k olup a\u011f \u015feklinde kabuklarla sar\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yapraklar\u0131 dar bu\u011fdaygil yapra\u011f\u0131na benzer, yapraklar &ccedil;i&ccedil;eklenme zaman\u0131nda veya &ccedil;i&ccedil;eklenmeden sonra g&ouml;r&uuml;l&uuml;r. Eyl&uuml;l, Ekim aylar\u0131nda a&ccedil;an &ccedil;i&ccedil;ekler, a&ccedil;\u0131k viole rengindedir. &Ccedil;i&ccedil;e\u011fin i&ccedil;indeki erkek organlar\u0131 saplar\u0131 beyaz tepesi sar\u0131 renklidir. Di\u015fi organ &uuml;&ccedil; par&ccedil;al\u0131 olarak uzayan portakal sar\u0131s\u0131 renginde olup, bitkinin faydalan\u0131lan k\u0131sm\u0131 bu k\u0131s\u0131md\u0131r.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-size: 8pt\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Safran baharat, boya maddesi, ila&ccedil; ve kozmetik sanayi ile halk hekimli\u011finde kullan\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 s&ouml;ylenmektedir. Safranbolu da t&uuml;ketim daha &ccedil;ok a\u015fure ve zerde yap\u0131m\u0131nda ve lokum imalat\u0131n da kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Safran yeti\u015ftiricili\u011finde olduk&ccedil;a fazla insan g&uuml;c&uuml;ne ihtiya&ccedil; vard\u0131r. So\u011fan dikilmeden &ouml;nce &ccedil;ok iyi bir toprak haz\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ister. Derin s&uuml;r&uuml;mden sonra 3-4 kez ikileme ister. So\u011fanlar 30-40 cm s\u0131ra aras\u0131 &ccedil;izilere, 20 cm derinli\u011fe dikilir. En iyi g&uuml;breleme yanl\u0131\u015f ah\u0131r g&uuml;bresiyle(so\u011fanlar\u0131 &ouml;rtecek kadar) &ouml;rt&uuml;l&uuml;r ve yiye toprakla kapat\u0131l\u0131r. Dikim A\u011fustos 20 &#8211; Eyl&uuml;l 10 aras\u0131nda yap\u0131l\u0131r. Dikildi\u011fi y\u0131l\u0131n 15 Ekim &#8211; 15 Kas\u0131m tarihleri aras\u0131 &ccedil;i&ccedil;eklenmeye ba\u015flar. \u0130lk y\u0131l &ccedil;i&ccedil;ek verimi &ouml;nemsizdir. 2.y\u0131l dekardan 0.75 &#8211; 1 kg kadar &uuml;r&uuml;n al\u0131n\u0131r. 3. Y\u0131l verim 1 &#8211; 1.5 kg kadard\u0131r.4 y\u0131l dekardan 1 kg kadar daha &uuml;r&uuml;n alabilmektedir. 4. Azalmay\u0131 etkileyen en &ouml;nemli fakt&ouml;r yeti\u015ftirilmesindeki zorluk, yeti\u015ftiricili\u011fi yapacak gen&ccedil; &ccedil;ift&ccedil;ilerin olmamas\u0131 ve di\u011fer k&ouml;yl&uuml; &ccedil;ift&ccedil;ilerin bu konuya kar\u015f\u0131 ilgi duymamalar\u0131d\u0131r. Safran\u0131n &ouml;nemi ve yay\u0131m\u0131 anlat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda ise &uuml;retim materyali olan so\u011fan\u0131n temin edilememesidir.
